CHAPTER XVI: MUNICIPAL DOG CONTROL LAWSection 1 Licensing <strong>of</strong> Dogs: The owner or keeper <strong>of</strong> any dog shall license such animals inaccordance with the provisions <strong>of</strong> General Laws, Chapter 140, Section 137-139 inclusive except that fees for suchlicenses shall be as follows:For a Male Dog: $ 11.00For a Female Dog $ 11.00For a Female Dog which shall have been spayed $ 7.00set by the Board <strong>of</strong> Selectmen.For dog licenses that are not renewed by June 1 st , the above fee schedule will be increased by ten dollars($10.00). shall be set by the Board <strong>of</strong> Selectman.Section 3.(3B) Owners are responsible to collect and properly dispose <strong>of</strong> excrement deposited by their dog onproperty other than the owner’s.Section 10: Alternative Procedures under General Laws, Chapter 140, Section 173A.(10B) Any owner or keeper found in violation <strong>of</strong> the above mentioned procedures shall be subject to afine <strong>of</strong> twenty five dollars ($25.00). If the owner or keeper <strong>of</strong> a dog or dogs is a minor, the parentor guardian <strong>of</strong> such minor shall be held liable for any violation <strong>of</strong> this by-law.Section 12: Where any owner violates, or continues to violate, any provision <strong>of</strong> this Section, resultingin legal action by the <strong>Town</strong>, the <strong>Town</strong> may recover reasonable attorney’s fees, court costs, and otherexpenses associated with such enforcement, including the cost <strong>of</strong> any actual damages incurred by the<strong>Town</strong>.SECTION 9 – PENALTIESCHAPTER XXII: WATER USE RESTRICTIONAny person violating this bylaw shall be liable to the <strong>Town</strong> in the amount <strong>of</strong> fifty dollars ($50.00) for the firstviolation and one hundred dollars ($100.00) for each subsequent violation which shall inure to the <strong>Town</strong> for suchuses as the Water and Sewer Commission may direct. Fines shall be recovered by indictment, or a complaintbefore the District Court, or by non-criminal disposition in accordance with Section 21D <strong>of</strong> Chapter 40 <strong>of</strong> theGeneral Laws. Each day <strong>of</strong> violation shall constitute a separate <strong>of</strong>fense.CHAPTER XXIII: UNREGISTERED MOTOR VEHICLE OR TRAILER REGULATIONSNo more than two (2) unregistered motor vehicles or trailers or any parts there<strong>of</strong> may be stored on any property in<strong>Town</strong>, except if such vehicles or parts there<strong>of</strong> are stored inside a garage or other enclosed structure, or suchvehicles are used for agricultural purposes, or such vehicles are on premises duly licensed under the provisions <strong>of</strong>Chapter 140 <strong>of</strong> the General Laws. Anyone who fails to remove or register such vehicles or parts there<strong>of</strong> within ten(10) days <strong>of</strong> receipt <strong>of</strong> written notice by the Police Department shall be subject to a fine <strong>of</strong> one hundred dollars($100.00) each day or part there<strong>of</strong> on which such vehicle or part there<strong>of</strong> remains and continues to exist on theproperty shall constitute a separate <strong>of</strong>fense.CHAPTER XXV: STREET ADDRESS NUMBERINGEnforcement: Enforcement <strong>of</strong> this By-Law shall be as follows:3. Any property owner found to be in violation <strong>of</strong> any section <strong>of</strong> this By-Law shall be notified in writing <strong>of</strong>the violation by the Building Commissioner. Any person who permits said violation to continue for aperiod <strong>of</strong> sixty (60) days subsequent to the receipt <strong>of</strong> a written notice from the Building Commissionerconcerning said violation shall be assessed a penalty by the Board <strong>of</strong> Selectmen <strong>of</strong> not more than onehundred dollars $100.00 two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) for each violation. For the purposes <strong>of</strong> thisBy-Law, each successive day during which any violation is committed or permitted to continue after sixty(60) days <strong>of</strong> the receipt <strong>of</strong> a written notice from the Building Commissioner shall constitute a separateviolation.Penalty: - 1 st Offense - $25.002 nd & Subsequent Offenses - $50.00SECTION 2 – CLASSIFICATION & PAY PLANCHAPTER XXVII: PERSONNEL39
