COMPONENT FOCUSAC-DC Power Supplies Offer Improved No-Load PerformanceCUI has expanded its VOF series of compact,open-frame AC-DC power supplies with new100W, 120W and 150W models.This second generation of open-frame powersupplies provides a number of improvementsover the company’s previous offerings, includinghigher efficiency, improved no-load performanceand a boost in power.The power supplies can accommodate a wideuniversal input voltage of 90 to 277V AC from a47Hz to 63Hz supply, offering compatibility withmains power worldwide.The new VOF power supplies are available witha choice of output voltages: 5V, 12V, 15V, 24V,36V and 48V. All models include output voltageadjustability of ±5%, set by use of an on-boardpotentiometer.The VOF-100 is rated for operation at 100%load and across a temperature range of -20°C to+50°C with 6.7 cubic feet/minute of forced-aircooling. This load must be de-rated by 50% foroperation at +60°C. The VOF-120 and VOF-150models operate with convection cooling at 100%load from -20°C to +40°C, also de-rating theload by 50% load at +60°C.Operating at up to 90% efficiency, the new VOFseries features no-load power consumption aslow as 0.25W. The VOF-150 model is equippedwith active power factor correction.All models are packaged in industry standardfootprints.
