Are you going to ISAACin Montreal?’ is the question on everyone’s lips. Flights andaccommodation are being booked, and lots of thought andenergy is going into preparation of presentations and posters.If you are going, remember to come along to the Chaptermeeting which will now happen on the Thursday, rather thanthe Wednesday as was in the initial programme. You will havereceived the information about how to promote an Aussieidentity in Canada by wearing your ISAAC T-shirt with somespecial additions – look forward to spotting others from downunder!At the recent AGM of the Chapter, some constitutionalchanges were made in relation to the potential for the Chapterto offer scholarships. As well as providing guidelines about themanagement of scholarship funds, these changes will support usin our bid to achieve Deductible Gift Reduction status with theAustralian Tax Offi ce! It was great to be able to report a healthyfi nancial status for the Chapter, and to have been able to offera $500 scholarship to attend the conference – announcementsoon in the ISAAC newsletter about the successful recipient.Preparations are well in train for the next International AACAwareness Event. The focus this year is on literacy for peoplewith CCN. In addition to the ‘Many Stories, One Voice’ writingcompetition, there are other ideas about activities that you cando to help promote understanding and awareness, and generalinformation that you can use in publications or discussions.Visit the site to keep up to date with the exciting progressreports from across the world, at http://www.aacawareness.org/<strong>2008</strong>events.html.
