Owner’s ManualDS/DSV/RS/DB/RB Series DehumidifierWarrantyTerms of Limited WarrantyDRY-O-TRON ® Energy Recycling Dehumidifiers(packaged units) and Factory Supplied AccessoriesGeneralDectron Inc. warrants as set forth and forthe time periods shown below that it willfurnish to the original owner, through aDectron Inc. authorized installing contractoror service organization, a new orrebuilt part for a part which has failedbecause of a defect in workmanship ormaterial. Dectron Inc. reserves the rightto apply handling and inspection chargesin the case of parts or equipment improperlyreturned as defective whether underwarranty or not.Registration and Start-Up ReportWarranty void unless upon start-up ofthe unit the “Start-Up Report andWarranty Registration” is completed andsent to the factory within one week of initialstart-up. This will also register thecompressor warranty with the compressormanufacturer.Initial 30-Day WarrantyDuring the first 30 days from initial startupand subject to prior approval from thefactory, Dectron Inc. will provide and/orreimburse the approved labor, materials,and shipping costs incurred in thereplacement of a defective part.Remainder of 25-Month WarrantyUpon expiry of the initial 30-day warranty,and until completion of the twenty-fifthmonth from date of shipment fromDectron Inc., if any part supplied byDectron Inc. fails because of a defect inworkmanship or material, Dectron Inc.will furnish a new or rebuilt part F.O.B.factory. No reimbursement will be madefor expenses incurred in making fieldadjustments or replacements unlessspecifically re-approved by Dectron Inc.in writing beforehand.ApplicabilityThis warranty is applicable only to productsthat are purchased and retained inthe United States and Canada. This warrantyis not applicable to:∆ Products that have become defectiveor damaged as a result of theuse of a contaminated water circuitor operation at abnormal watertemperatures and/or flow rates.∆ Parts that wear out due to normalusage, such as air filters, belts,fuses and refrigerant.∆ Products that have been movedfrom the location where they werefirst installed.∆ Any portion of the system notsupplied by Dectron Inc.∆ Products on which the model and/orserial number plates have beenremoved or defaced.∆ Products on which payment isin default.∆ Products which have becomedefective or damaged as a result ofunauthorized opening of refrigerantcircuit, improper wiring, electricalsupply characteristics, poor maintenance,accidents, transportation,misuse, abuse, fire, flood, alterationand/or misapplication of theproduct.∆ Products operated without clean,properly installed air filters.∆ Products not installed, operated,and maintained as per the applicableDectron Inc. Owner’s Manual.Transportation CostsAfter the initial 30-day warranty periodhas expired, charges covering transportationof the defective part(s) toDectron Inc. from the customer site andreplacement part(s) from Dectron Inc. tothe customer site are not covered by thiswarranty.LimitationsThis warranty is given in lieu of all otherwarranties. Anything in the warrantynotwithstanding, any implied warrantiesof fitness for particular purpose and merchantabilityshall be limited to the durationof this express warranty.Manufacturer expressly disclaims andexcludes any liability for consequential orincidental damage for breach of anyexpress or implied warranty.Where a jurisdiction does not allow limitationsor exclusions in a warranty, theforegoing limitations and exclusions shallnot apply to the extent of legislation,however, in such case the balance of theabove warranty shall remain in full forceand effect.This warranty gives specific legal rights.Other rights may vary according to locallegislation.Obtaining Warranty ServiceNormally, the DECTRON INC. AUTHO-RIZED CONTRACTOR who installed theproducts will provide warranty service tothe owner. Should the installing contractorbe unavailable, contact your localDectron, Inc. representative or thefactory.Force MajeureDectron Inc. will not be liable for delay orfailure to provide warranty service due togovernment restrictions or restraints,war, strikes, material shortages, acts ofGod or other causes beyond DectronInc.’s control.STARTUPData subject to change without notice.Dectron, Inc. Thisextended compressor warranty is subjectto all the terms of the standard DRY-O-TRON ® warranty but applied to thecompressor only. 1 This extended warrantymust be purchased before shipmentof the unit.1 Does not cover labor costs.Optional Third to Fifth Year CoilWarrantyUnder this warranty a new or re-built coilwill be supplied at Dectron Inc.’sexpense, F.O.B. factory, provided thefailed coil is returned to the factory withtransportation prepaid. This extendedcoil warranty is subject to all the terms ofthe standard DRY-O-TRON ® warrantybut applied to the coil only. 2 This extendedwarranty must be purchased beforeshipment of the unit.2 Does not cover labor costs.The optional delayed start-up warrantyis only valid if all of the followingconditions are met:∆ Water or condensation are notallowed to enter the electricalpanel.∆ Indoor units are stored in a dryand protected area.∆ Electrical power must not beconnected.∆ Unit not tampered with orvandalized in any fashion.∆ Start-Up Report and WarrantyRegistration is completed and sentto the factory within one week ofinitial start-up.This optional delayed start-up warrantyis subject to all the terms of the standardDRY-O-TRON ® warranty.
