Living two lives; it’s not AYOBA!Living two lives; what do I mean?Can someone live a life as a Christian only on certain days and then on others live in sin? Yes, of cause! Is itright to live a life as a Christian only on certain days and then on others live in sin? No, of cause not! Livingtwo lives means telling people you are a Christian but only when it suits you!What does AYOBA mean?AYOBA is a slang word which means cool, great or sweet.So how should we live?We live in an era where life is tough, jobs are in short supply, and we go through many disasters, not to evenmention the recession we just went through, and in times like these many people turn to Jesus for answers andfor help. In most cases those who do turn to God and really walk with Him in their lives get answers and theirlives do change for the good.I have seen in the past where people has gone back to their “old” lives once they start making money again,when they learned to deal with the problems and issues they experienced in their lives. Slowly but surely theystart reading their Bible less and less while they stop thanking Jesus for their daily blessings. Most of them willcontinue to go to Church every now and again and still talk about Jesus with the Christian friends they madewhen they accepted Jesus into their lives.The problem comes in when they NOT with their Christian friends, may it be at school, work or home, theyseem to forget that they are Christians and that the Lord touched their lives not too long ago! When theirfriend’s talk bad about Jesus they laugh with them, when they misuse the Lords name they ignore it, when theirfriends want to do the things Jesus dislike, they go with the “flow” as it’s the cool thing to do. But whenSunday comes they go to Church with their friends (who by the way also use to serve the Lord and whom theLord saved in most cases) and sing worship songs out loud, sometimes holding their hands high into the heavensso that others can see that they are Christians. When the Church is out and they return to work or school, theyonce again start living their old life, well in most cases, a life without Christ, a life where they are too ashamedto stand up for our Lord.If you are not living this life (living two lives) then I praise the Lord and I am sure that you would agree withwhat I am saying today. If you reading this and you can be “man” enough to admit it or if you have neveraccepted Jesus into your life as your Saviour, then please read the following Bible verse carefully:I have knowledge of your works, that you are not cold or warm: it would be better if you were cold or warm. Sobecause you are not one thing or the other, I will have no more to do with you. Rev 3:15-16We need to decide where we want to be as being in the middle, being and living in a comfort zone, is not whereJesus wants us to be. We cannot be both and we cannot be in the middle so my question to you today is wheredo you stand? Living two lives is not good my friends and we have to acknowledge it so that we can change! Ifyou say you are a Christian, why not live it? Let’s see what Jesus said about the way He wants us to live:But be certain of this that in the last day’s times of trouble will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers ofmoney, uplifted in pride, given to bitter words, going against the authority of their fathers, never giving praise,having no religion, Without natural love, bitter haters, saying evil of others, violent and uncontrolled, hating allgood, False to their friends, acting without thought, lifted up in mind, loving pleasure more than God; Having aform of religion, but turning their backs on the power of it: go not with these. For these are they who go

secretly into houses, making prisoners of foolish women, weighted down with sin, turned from the way by theirevil desires, Ever learning, and never coming to the knowledge of what is true. 2 Tim 3:1-7AND ALSO THIS:But I say, Go on in the Spirit, and you will not come under the rule of the evil desires of the flesh. For the fleshhas desires against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; because these are opposite the one to the other;so that you may not do the things which you have a mind to do. But if you are guided by the Spirit, you are notunder the law. Now the works of the flesh are clear, which are these: evil desire, unclean things, wrong use ofthe senses, Worship of images, use of strange powers, hates, fighting, desire for what another has, angryfeelings, attempts to get the better of others, divisions, false teachings, Envy, uncontrolled drinking and feasting,and such things: of which I give you word clearly, even as I did in the past, that they who do such things willhave no part in the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, a quiet mind, kind acts, welldoing,faith, Gentle behaviour, control over desires: against such there is no law. And those who are Christ'shave put to death on the cross the flesh with its passions and its evil desires. If we are living by the Spirit, by theSpirit let us be guided. Gal 5:16-25We know what the Lord asks of us so why do we still live two lives, why can we not come up for Him whosaved us and whom died for us? Why can we not walk out of the Church on a Sunday and continue to givepraise to Him who does so much for us, who ALWAYS provides when we in need?My friends, let us stand up and live the life of a Christian and not just be Christians.Even so let your light be shining before men, so that they may see your good works and give glory to yourFather in heaven. Matt 5:16I would like to end with a message to those whom have not yet accepted Jesus as their Saviour. This message isnot from me but from Him who have died for your sins on the cross:See, I am waiting at the door and giving the sign; if my voice comes to any man's ears and he makes the dooropen, I will come in to him, and will take food with him and he with me. Rev 3:20.he Lord is calling on you today, can you hear Him and will you be opening the door of your heart to him?He who has the Son has the life; he who has not the Son of Godhas not the life. 1 John 5:12-------------------------------------------------------------------------
