Error Codes & Troubleshooting ProblemsHow to troubleshoot spa problemsER-5 POOL TOO HOTER-8 CTRL FAULT HVSProblem:Pool over temperature. Temperature sensor reading ≥ 45 o CProblem:Heater relay is on when it should be offCause:Solutions:High ambient temperatures (especially in summer months) havecaused water temperature to rise above set temp point, Excessivefiltration time, Jet pumps have been operating for extended periodswith the spa cover still onTurn mains power OFF, remove spa cover, allow spa to cool then turnpower back ONCheck daily filtration time (refer filtration section) and reduce dailyfiltration time if requiredCause:Solutions:Power surge, periods of low or high voltage, water on spa packterminal block, relay problemTurn mains power OFF and back ON again to see if spa controlrecovers from ER8 faultInspect under spa cabinet for evidence of water leaking onto spacontrol. If water present, turn mains power OFF and isolate, thenresolve leak, dry up excess water, and allow spa control to dry outbefore restoring power.Check spa cover is not resting on topside panel buttons causing jetpumps to start when cover is on.
