The kite shaped constellation Bootes boasts the brightest
star in the northern skies – Arcturus – which shines like a
celestial beacon. Similarly the Infranor Arcturus-15 is a
beacon among floodlights. It is one of the most powerful
compact architectural floodlights available, boasting
a maximum candela value of approximately one million!
The Arcturus-15 is also cULus listed for use in wet locations.
Simply put, the Arcturus-15 provides easy solutions for complicated
lighting design challenges.
Every Infranor product is mechanically and photometrically
engineered to very exacting criteria, and the Arcturus-15 is no
exception. The Arcturus-15 offers a wide assortment of precision
rectangular and spot beam patterns with exceptionally high
maximum candela values and narrow beam spreads for hard-toreach
applications. The Arcturus-15 is perfect for applications
that are limited to a short setback and require a long throw. It is
also ideal for applications requiring a long setback, precision optics
and high footcandle values.
The Arcturus-15 accepts the 1000W CSI Metal Halide Par64 and up to
1000W quartz Par64 lamps with four (4) different beam spreads available
from a 970, 840 CD narrow spot (NSP 9˚x8˚) to rectangular narrow (RN2
10˚x 48˚), all providing precision Infranor beam control. The CSI lamp
option offers excellent color rendering with a color temperature of 4000˚K
and a CRI of 80. The small lens diameter is ideal for dichroic filter options. All
luminaires are easily maintained through a simple tool-less relamping system
assuring integrity of the sealed optical system. (the Arcturus-15 is nominally
11" diameter by 15" deep)
This product includes strategically incorporated heat sink fins for cooler
luminaire operation and longer component life. The luminaire also offers a
clean, sturdy cast housing carrying a continuity of design throughout the
luminaire and the ignitor housing.
Every Arcturus-15 luminaire meets or exceeds the stringent requirements set
forth by UL for wet location use and carries the cULus label. All luminaires are
fully tested prior to shipment and backed by the protection of a full
Sterner/Infranor warranty.

ARCTURUS - 15 WRITTEN SPECIFICATIONS
HOUSING
The upper and lower luminaire housing shall be cast aluminum and cylindrical in
shape with integral fins for heat dissipation. The upper and lower housings shall clamp
together with (3) tool-less over center stainless steel latches, spaced at 120 degrees to
ensure uniform compression and a watertight seal. Housing can be specified as front
or rear access ('FA', RA') for tool-less lamp accessibility.
LUMINAIRE LENS & DOORFRAME
The luminaire lens shall be of thermal and impact resistant ceramic glass 0.19" thick
and shall be sealed with an E.P.D.M. gasket to the upper luminaire housing to provide
a watertight seal. The luminaire doorframe shall be cast aluminum and secured with
(4) stainless steel fasteners to the upper luminaire housing.
FINISH
Finished parts shall be washed in a multi-stage phosphate processing system and then
finished with a baked acrylic enamel high temperature paint. Standard color is black.
Consult factory for non standard finish availability for this product.

ELECTRICAL MODULE
Luminaire shall be cULus listed for use in wet locations and manufactured
from UL recognized electrical components. The lamp holder shall be a
Mogul BiPost for metal halide lamps, and ExMogEndPr for quartz halogen
and incandescent lamps. Luminaire shall be equipped with 3 ft. of 16/3
STO-W cord. 1000 watt metal halide option shall be capable of operation
with a CSI core and coil ballast. Ballast shall be housed in a remote cast
aluminum ballast box supplied with (2) watertight conectors. Ballast box
shall have integral fins for additional heat dissipation and cover is secured
with (6) plated steel fasteners for a watertight seal. Ballast shall be capable
of mounting at a distance up to 200 feet (based on 10-gauge wire and a
1% voltage drop). Luminaire ignitor housing shall be of two-piece cast
aluminum and sealed with a silicone gasket. The ignitor housing shall be
attached directly to the back of the lower luminaire housing.
