ALTERNATIVAS PARA OBTENEREL DIPLOMA DE PREPARATORIAUno de los objetivos más importantes de las escuelas es que los estudiantes se gradúen yhay muchos jóvenes y adultos que empezaron a estudiar la preparatoria pero que pordiversos motivos no pudieron terminarla, en otras palabras no lograron aprobar los créditosque se necesitan para graduarse y obtener el Diploma de Preparatoria o High SchoolDiploma. A muchos de ellos les falta un curso o dos cursos para graduarse, a otros más,existiendo, por supuesto, numerosas situaciones. Citamos a continuación algunas opcionespara obtener el diploma:a) Una de las opciones más conocidas es la Escuela de Adultos de Wichita (Wichita AreaTechnical Collage - WATC) que los prepara para obtener el GED (General EducationDiploma) equivalente al High School Diploma. En el WATC los alumnos siguen ciclosregulares en horarios que se acomodan al trabajo. Los alumnos asisten a clasesregulares de diferentes temas tales como lenguaje, matemáticas, ciencias sociales,ciencias naturales y se van preparando para rendir el examen del GED. El requisito esque el alumno sea mayor de edad (18 años) y con buen conocimiento del ingléshablado y escrito (también el WATC ofrece clases de inglés para adultos).
