9. Operating instructionsSTARTUP PROCEDUREMake sure both the stack and the ambient temperature are less than 45℃. Otherwise the systemwill not start up successfully.Hold the ON/OFF button down for 2 seconds and then release it to start the system; you will hearone beep, which means the system has started.RUNNING PROCEDUREAfter system has started, depending on your setup and application you can change your load to getthe power you need within the speciied power range for this fuel cell.Don’t connect up a load that will demand more power than 2000W which can permanently damagethe fuel cell.During the operation, monitor the Hydrogen low and pressure to consistently supply hydrogen at0.45-0.55Bar.Monitor the external power is providing 12-14V.Direct the outlet tubing of the purge valve away from the fuel cell. Do not let the purged hydrogengo back towards the fuel cell stack, it will damage the fuel cell.Pay attention to the purge, take care of the performance during the purge, If after each purge, theperformance is increased about 10%, it means you need to increase the pressure of hydrogen asmall amount. The fuel cell is looding and so you need to use the pressure to push extra water out.During the operation, you need to keep the SCU ON at "-", it will condition the fuel cell for ratedpower and keep it conditioned for long performance lifetimes.● Short circuit will happen every 10 seconds and last for 100ms everytime.● If the load does not operate well with the short circuit on we recommend that you run thefuel cell for 10 minutes prior to switching the load on.● There will be a slight decrease in the power provided to the load with the short circuit off.H-2000 Fuel Cell Stack User Manual V2.6 22
