Thethreaded, overmoulded design completely protects both male and female RJ-45components, making it virtually impossible for data <strong>to</strong> be interrupted by unintentionalphysical intervention.Harsh Environments - The RJ-Lnxx IP67 rated industrial connec<strong>to</strong>r provides protection<strong>from</strong> ingress of hazards such as water, oil and dust. The PVC or PUR jacketed FTPCategory 5e cable stands up <strong>to</strong> aggressive chemical environments often found in severeapplications.Vibration - While standard RJ-45 connec<strong>to</strong>rs can expect a long life when mounted in acommunications panel, due <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> inherent ‘play’ in <strong>the</strong> design, <strong>the</strong>y cannot withstandsignificant levels of vibration. On industrial machinery, this may cause <strong>the</strong> gold plate on<strong>the</strong> contacts <strong>to</strong> wear leading <strong>to</strong> a potential loss of data. MALE MOULDED CONNECTORSSPECIFICATIONS AND PART NUMB<strong>ER</strong>SThe RJ-Lnxx range of moulded connec<strong>to</strong>rs is available in a number ofcable configurations <strong>to</strong> suit <strong>the</strong> majority of industrial and commercialapplications. Solid or stranded cores, shielded (FTP) or unshielded(UTP) construction, and three choices of outer jacket, PVC, PUR or anextremely <strong>robust</strong> Urethane/Kevlar construction, Proplex.For static applications, when <strong>the</strong> connec<strong>to</strong>r is not subject <strong>to</strong> excessivemovement, a cable with solid conduc<strong>to</strong>rs should be selected. Inaddition <strong>to</strong> being cheaper than stranded cable, solid core cable hassuperior attenuation properties and is suitable for connec<strong>to</strong>rs of up <strong>to</strong>100m in length. The solid core cables available are RJCAB-F andRJCAB-V.For applications where <strong>the</strong> connec<strong>to</strong>r will be operating under flexingconditions, a cable with stranded conduc<strong>to</strong>rs should be used.
