Changes to the constitution passed at the 2005 A.G.M. have establishedclearly defined membership criteria intended to attract further support from clubs and individuals inDevon.Singin' Spring and aFolk Musician's Workshop are just two of the events this year which DevonFolk has sponsored, and at least three major folk festivals in the county have received assistance.Devon Folk is active in promoting folk activities with children, in schools and other youthorganisations. Devon Folk is run on behalf of its members by the Devon Folk Committee. Anymember of Devon Folk is entitled to stand for election to the Committee and to vote at GeneralMeetings.Membership of DevonFolk is open to:Any individual, on payment of an annual membership fee (currently £2)Any club onpayment of an annual membership fee (currently £4)This entitles two nominated club representatives to stand for election to the Committee and to voteat GeneralMeetings.FREE MEMBERSHIP of Devon Folk isautomatically given to:Any individual subscribing annually to theWhat's Afoot magazineAnnual subscription for magazine by post iscurrently £3. Where a subscription is in jointnames, only the first named will be entitled to standfor election to the Committee and to vote at GeneralMeetings. Individuals may opt to subscribe byregular purchase of magazine through anominatedclub.Any individual who is amember of E.F.D.S.S.resident in DevonAny Club in Devon which is affiliated toE.F.D.S.S.Two nominated representatives of the club areentitled to stand for election to the Committee andto vote at General Meetings.Acopy of the full constitution is available from theSecretary on request.
