Devon Folk NewsAnnualGeneral Meeting 2006The date for next year's AGM is April 8th and it will be held in Broadclyst Victory Hall. During theafternoon aTea Dance is planned with Valerie Webster calling amixed programme of dances. TheAGM will follow at 6pmMusic Workshopand Dance 2006On 17th June 2006 Pete Mac will be running another afternoon Musicians' Workshopat the Public Hall, Budleigh Salterton and during the evening there is to be aFolk Dance. NicoleMac is the caller, the music will be by The Pete Mac Band and any workshop musicians who wouldlike to join them.Charity CollectionAnother event planned by Devon Folk for April/May next year is acharity collection in aid of theChildren's Hospice in North Devon. Ideally we should like all folk clubs in Devon to be involvedeven if it is only in asmall way. Perhaps your Club could donate the profits from adance or hold aspecial raffle. We are hoping that the Morris Clubs will come up with something spectacular for the1st May. More details will be available in the December issue of What's Afoot.English Dance &Song MagazineTheEDS magazine is planning to phase out the listing of diary dates and following this news theDevon Folk Committee agreed that in future we should have only two contact names and telephonenumbers plus details of our website. Thank you to all secretaries who have kept me informed but infuture please just let Colin Andrews at What's Afoot have your diary dates.Grants &SponsorshipsIn each magazine we list donations from Clubs and because of these donations, so far this year weare able to help sponsor the Teignmouth and Dartmoor Folk Festivals.
