In the raw material development and certification, Asia Procurement Department will make the choice and evaluation on theexisting suppliers according to the requirements. If the existing suppliers cannot meet with the requirements, Asia ProcurementDepartment will look for new supplier sources and carry out the evaluation and auditing on the potential suppliers, which shall bepassed before the certification of suppliers and raw materials. During the process of evaluation and auditing, the Department notonly pays attentions to quality management system, comprehensive situation and technological updating capability of the evaluatedsuppliers, but more importantly lays high emphasis on the contribution of the evaluated suppliers in the respect of social responsibility.While maintaining the old suppliers and developing new suppliers, Asia Procurement Department will also make the evaluation on allsuppliers at the end of the year, and grant the awards to the suppliers二○○ 八恩布拉科雪花持续性报告3536To ensure raw material quality, in addition to daily quality improvement, the Purchasing and Logistics Department will regularly carryout the auditing on the quality system, process, control of poisonous and hazardous substances and social responsibility in theplants of the suppliers, in order to promote the constant improvement of the suppliers. In addition, the Company attaches exceptionalimportance on the control of poisonous and hazardous substances in raw materials, for which the company has developed morestringent standards by referring to EU RoHS Directive and REACHIn 2008, the Company was confronted with the largest challenge in logistics, that is, the pressure of supply and inventory arisingfrom the transportation control during the period of the Olympic Games. Under the cooperation of the departments, the raw materialsupply work was smoothly completed during this period. The influence of the Olympic Games ever pushed the raw material inventoryto a high level. Through the cooperation with the departments related to the supply chain and with the Finance Department, thePurchasing and Logistics Department consumed the stocked raw materials, strictly controlled the orders, and improved the inventorycontrol system. The implementation of these measures steadily reduces the inventory. From September, 2009, the Purchasingand Logistics Department has carried out the Just in Time (JIT) Project (that is, the suppliers are required to deliver raw materials ofspecified quantity at the specified time and place) with some suppliers. The implementation of JIT Project saves the inventory costand reduces the warehousing areas. In the end of 2008, the Department developed the strategy of further reducing the inventory in2009 based on deep analysis on the suppliers.
