There Robert worked on his mothers farm tillhe wnet into the army and it was when he was on a tour overin the UK that he met Lilian his future wife. He married her justbefore he came out of the army then they lived in London. Theyhad two children. During this time Robert went into the MerchantNavy.At some stage after this Robert returned to NZ where he wasborn, leaving his children in the care of their Grandmother Elizabeth(Lilians Mother).
