If you are a Reservist or National Guardsman, you can makean appointment to have your animal seen at the VTF during your annual two weeksof active service. In an effort to improve the availability of services that are providedfor the community, the VTF has civilian veterinarian on staff. Services providedinclude, but are not limited to, routine vaccinations, heart-worm testing andprevention for internal and external parasites, flea products, health certificates, nailclippings, and treatment of diseases that may transmitted from animals to humans.Although our primary concerns are for the health of your animal we are notauthorized to perform spays, neuters, de-claws, board animals, or treat medicalconditions that are not considered to be communicable. A civilian veterinarian mustsee all emergencies. Questions and additional information about VTF services can beobtained from the VTF by telephone or in-person.Please note the following information:The Veterinarian provides vaccination and/or limited sick call clinic hours once perweek. Appointments are required. Call or stop in to make an appointment.Regulations require that all animals be registered at the VTF within 10 days ofmoving into base housing. Pit Bulls, wild or exotic animals (ferrets monkeys,squirrels, etc.) are not allowed in base housing. A maximum of two (2) animals persponsor is authorized in base housing. A veterinary technician is available duringnormal duty hours to register animals, sell over the counter medications, answerquestions, and perform limited medical treatment. Boarding, surgery, and emergencymedical care must be obtained from a civilian establishment.E-6
