Shopping Assistant PassA shopping assistant pass is available to ID cardholders who require physical assistance to shop forthemselves, or who are unable to shop for themselves.The pass along with the sponsor’s ID card, and aphoto ID of the assistant will allow a non-ID cardholder to accompany and/or shop on behalf of thesponsor.The most common cases are the handicapped IDcard holder and parent(s) of minor children who are in their custody, becauseof a divorce or guardianship while the sponsor is deployed (when shopping forminor children, It is important that the items must be applicable for their needs.i.e. alcohol or tobacco products are not permitted to be purchased). The pass isalso available for temporary needs. Example: if a service member is having amedical procedure and will have a family member (without an ID card) takecare of them during recovery. A pass can be issued for the caretaker to shop onbehalf of the service member.What to bringService members / Dependant’s ID card, and a photo ID of the assistant.Temporary needs or sponsor under age 65- Requires a doctors’ statement ontheir office stationary explaining the situation, how long the condition isexpected to last, and the name of the assistant.Where to goThe MWR Central Registration Office in building 780, room 7.
