SECTION 13State IRB TeamEach year, a Victorian IRB Team is selected to compete in the SLSA IRB InterstateChampionships to be held during the Australian IRB Championships. Expressions ofInterest for Athletes, Management Team and Selectors will be sent via LSV circularbefore the commencement of the competition season.Selection process: All Life Saving Victoria members in the Open age groups for theseason 2010-2011 are eligible to participate providing they have met the followingselection criteria.Participant requirements: In order to be eligible for selection in the State teams,participants must:Be a current financial member of an affiliated LSC within Victoria; andHave obtained their appropriate IRB award (see below)Hold a current working with children check (if over 18yrs)State Team composition:The State Team will each comprise the following positions:16 team members (including drivers, crew & patients both male and female) 2reserve team membersThe team will generally consist of 3 male teams (3 drivers, 3 crews), 3 female teams(3 drivers, 3 crews) and either 4 specialty patients or 2 specialty patients and onespare team (either male or female).State Team management group: The Management Group will comprise thefollowing positions:1 x Coach1 x Manager1 x Assistant Manager (Male/Female)1 x Patient Coordinator (Male/Female)State Team Selectors3 x Team Selectors will be appointed to join the Coach and team manager to selectthe team.Events to be contested at the IRB interstate challenge:Male tube rescue raceFemale tube rescue raceMale Mass rescue raceFemale Mass rescue raceMale Teams rescue raceFemale Teams rescue raceMale rescue raceFemale rescue raceLifesaver IRB relay (consists of 16 team members)24 of 26
