What does the legal process entail?We will be changing the legal name of the companyfrom <strong>AIG</strong> <strong>UK</strong> <strong>Limited</strong> to <strong>Chartis</strong> Insurance <strong>UK</strong> <strong>Limited</strong>on 1 December 2009. The company structure will notchange, only our name. This change of name does notimpact our regulatory status in any way.2. What impact does the new name have onexisting policies?Other than the change of name, there will be nochange to the terms and conditions of existing policiesand all policies and claims will continue to be handledfrom 1 December 2009 in exactly the same manner asthey are now.3. Why are you changing name?In March, we announced we were forming a holdingcompany, which is a step that prepares for possibleoperating independence down the road. With our ownbrand, management team and a well-capitalised andfocused portfolio of businesses, we will benefit from abetter-defined, more distinct role in the marketplace.4. What are the benefits for my clients?Many things will remain the same such as our financialstrength, underwriting expertise and product innovation.The change of name will help clients view us as moredistinct, better defined entity in the market place witha global management team and focused portfolio ofbusinesses.5. How will this affect <strong>Chartis</strong> <strong>UK</strong> ratings?We do not expect any change in our rating as a resultof changing our name. We will be the same companywith the same capital and reserves.6. What message can I give my clients at quotation?All you need to do is let your clients know about ourchange of name. What happens to my current TOBA?Your current TOBA remains the same and continuesin force. TOBA’s issued from 1 December 2009 will beissued as <strong>Chartis</strong> Insurance <strong>UK</strong> <strong>Limited</strong>.9. Will there be any changes to accountingprocedures?Please continue to pay accounts as usual to the bankaccount you currently use. The name of the accountwill be changing to <strong>Chartis</strong> Insurance <strong>UK</strong> <strong>Limited</strong>.10. When does the name change take effect?The name change takes effect on 1 December 2009.11. Will policyholders be issued with replacementpolicy documents?No. We will not issue replacement policy documents. Ifyou issue policies on our behalf you do not need to issuereplacement policies. Existing documents whether theyare a certificate, policy, or schedule are valid after thechange of name until the next renewal date.12. What happens to current and new claims?All claims will continue to be handled during and afterthe name change in the same way as before. Claimantswill be notified of the change of name when theycontact us.

They continue to be contactableon the same telephone number shown in the policies.Anybody telephoning the units will be told about thechange of name.14. What about overseas risks?Most of <strong>AIG</strong>’s general insurance companies aroundthe world have or are in the process of changing theirname to <strong>Chartis</strong>. As a result documents issued inanother country may already be in the <strong>Chartis</strong> name.15.
