EFB also wishes to expand collaborationsbetween academic and industrial researchersthroughout Europe to increase competencies, strengthen education, promote innovation and increasethe benefits of biotechnological research to society atlarge.Netherlands Biotechnology Foundation was foundedin 1986 with the aim to stimulate biotechnology intheNetherlands, with special focus on supporting youngresearchers, biotechnological events and facilitatingthe participation of Dutch biotechnologists ininternational activities.B-Basic is a consortium of universities, researchinstitutions and industry. The programme focuses onthe development of new bio-based productionconcepts for the chemical (and energy) industry whichare rooted in the current explosive increase infundamental insights in molecular biology through thegenomics revolution, combined with advancedbioprocess technology and existing chemicalknowledge. In ACTSgovernment, industry, university and knowledgeinstitutes cooperate in public-private partnerships. It isthe mission of ACTS to initiate and support thedevelopment of new technological concepts for thesustainable production of materials and energycarriers, essential for the supply of food, comfort, health, shelter and mobility to the inhabitants oftomorrow's world. Through its activities ACTS willcontribute to the sustainable economic growth and tothe knowledge infrastructure in the Netherlands, andattract young talent to a career in science andtechnology.TechnoPartner concentrates on helping technostartersin Holland.Portal site for Biotechnology in the Netherlands.ASSOCIATION OF BIOTECHNOLOGY CENTRESIN THE NETHERLANDS.University medical centres and other academic bodiesare a source of many biotechnology start-ups.
