The client is a leading provider<br />
of both local and long distance<br />
telephone services, mobile<br />
services, dialup, wireless, DSL<br />
and cable internet access in<br />
Australia. It has an estimated<br />
9.3m mobile subscriber base.<br />
� Identifying proactively the missing links in terms of<br />
support for flow-through provisioning IP telephony<br />
services<br />
� Inability of Operations team to process huge volume of<br />
work order manually and then handing them over to<br />
engineering team to activate services for the customer<br />
� Activation of services across multiple vendor and varied<br />
technologies<br />
� Established a unified platform to activate services<br />
irrespective of underlying network equipment and<br />
vendors<br />
� Automated the order-to-activate provisioning<br />
process resulting in huge cost savings on the<br />

Background<br />
The client is one of the largest C providers a s of e wire line and S wireless t u services d across y Australia.<br />
The client had too many legacy systems which had inherently complex and disparate set of architectures<br />
resulting in massive slowdown of their business critical operations. In parallel they were transforming their<br />
networks over the IP backbone using NGN architecture. This in effect led to the need for OSS/BSS<br />
transformation.<br />
In the OSS space, the key element was a robust service activation solution. Client had chosen Metasolv for<br />
service activation apart from the existing systems.<br />
This implied the implementation of Metasolv and its integration with other products and systems.<br />
Client was looking for a partner who could take complete responsibility for Metasolv implementation and<br />
integration.<br />
<strong>Tech</strong> <strong>Mahindra</strong> Solution<br />
Given the extensive domain experience, the client selected <strong>Tech</strong> <strong>Mahindra</strong> as their partner for OSS<br />
transformation.<br />
<strong>Tech</strong> <strong>Mahindra</strong> took complete responsibility and accountability to deliver end-to-end service activation suite,<br />
which included product (Metasolv) implementation and integration with upstream and downstream<br />
applications of the ecosystem.<br />
It had the capabilities of least touch point for doing flow-through provisioning.. Following were the salient<br />
features of the overall engagement.<br />
� Provided a framework to activate IP telephony services which will eventually span the logic across<br />
network elements.<br />
� Build flexible business logic for upstream interfaces to launch services within the timelines.<br />
� Feasibility studies were conducted for the services to be launched from activation product components<br />
perspective.<br />
� Provided consulting on correctness of business requirements from activation components perspective.<br />

b. Identification of gaps in business requirements.<br />
c. Validation of business requirements from product (Metasolv) perspective<br />
� Design<br />
a. Service design for IP telephony services. This incorporates service bundling, process flow<br />
and various APIs call formulation for activating services on to the network.<br />
b. Design of network cartridges for soft switch and other media devices. This includes<br />
servicemodelling and respective low level design for provisioning and connection classes.<br />
