Coaching StaffTy MegaheeAssistant Coach - Second SeasonTy Megahee returns to the <strong>Mercer</strong>coaching staff for a second season, following asolid two-season stint on the field for the Bears.Megahee’s familiarity with the program hashelped him fit in and help Gibson establish asolid foundation for the future. He excelled onthe field at <strong>Mercer</strong> and provides the squad witha wide range of infield knowledge.Megahee serves as the volunteer assistant coach for theBears. Megahee is responsible for the academic progress of thebaseball program, assisting with theteam's hitters and serving as the catchinginstuctor.Megahee spent the summerof 2006 with the Florence RedWolvesof the Coastal Plains League. Hehelped Florence to a 32-18 record,fourth-best in the league. Megaheeserved as the team's hitting and infieldcoach. The 2006 RedWolves set teamfranchise records for batting average(.268), home runs (29) and on-basepercentage (.350). Florence also finishedwith the fourth-best fielding percentagein the league (.964).A <strong>Mercer</strong> alumnus, Megahee lettered for the Bears in2004 and 2005, playing for current <strong>Mercer</strong> skipper Craig Gibson.He was a two-year starter on the infield. During his career,Megahee helped the Bears jump into the upper eschelon in theAtlantic Sun Conference. Following his senior season, Ty wasawarded the Doyle E. Watson Leadership Award. His parents, Gene andDede, reside in Norman Park.Megahee has two youngersiblings, Josi, a junior at the<strong>University</strong> of Georgia, andTanner, a freshman at ABAC.Rachel GreenAthletic Trainer - Second SeasonRachel Green joined the <strong>Mercer</strong>Athletic Training staff in the fall of 2005 as theAssistant Athletic Trainer. She is in her secondseason in with <strong>Mercer</strong>'s baseball and volleyballteams.Green earned a bachelors degree inathletic training from the <strong>University</strong> ofEvansville. Following her time at Evansville,she moved on to the <strong>University</strong> of Florida, and notched a mastersin applied physiology and kinesiology.While at Florida, Green participated in the High SchoolOutreach Program where she was responsible for more than 250student-athletes at Newberry and P.K. Young high schools.
