We do it so you have animmediate comfort when you walk through our doors—the assurancethat you will receive the best possible care from highly trained andaccredited staff, departments and facilities.Radiology Departments Earn Kudosfor Quality and Commitment<strong>Marion</strong> <strong>General</strong> <strong>Hospital</strong>’s PMi, MRI and CT departments<strong>we</strong>re recently accredited by the American College ofRadiology (ACR).The ACR, a national organization serving more than34,000 diagnostic/interventional radiologists, radiationoncologists and medical physicists, accredits facilities forachieving high practice standards and assesses qualificationsof the personnel, adequacy of equipment, effectiveness ofquality control measures, and quality of clinical images.The accreditations recognize the professionalism ofradiologists and the staff’s commitment to providing thehighest level of quality patient care.Robin Heiny, RT(R)(CT)(MR), and Jennifer Klein,RT(R), played a pivotal role in the new accreditations.They worked many hours to compile and submit therequired documentation.MGH also was reaccredited for nuclear medicine andCT services. The staff members who made reaccreditationpossible <strong>we</strong>re: in CT, Nick Cain, Amy Drook, Jessica Fansler,Renee Miller, April Stout, Scott McGibbon and Keith Vice;and in nuclear medicine, Betsy Bouwkamp and Jay Taylor.“Our new accreditations and reaccreditations recognizethe quality, professionalism and technical ability of ourradiology department,” says Lynn Imel, administrativedirector of radiology. “We see these recognitions as yetanother example of excellence at MGH.”The accreditations are valid through 2013.6Vim & Vigor • Fall 2011
