The next morning I took the flight fromMunich to Stockholm and was picked up therefrom an old friend and convenor of the nationalHYM Bengt Norvik. Bengt showed great friendship,because Uppsala, the town where theHYM took place is more or less 50 km distancefrom the Stockholm Arlanda Airport. The firstgoal was the very nice house from Bengt,where we waited for other Swedish 41ers whocome a bit north of Stockholm. After this Bengtdrove us all to our hotel, the “Eklundshof”,which was situated in a nice little forest moreor less outside from Uppsala. There I couldmeet other 41ers, Lady Circlers and SwedishTangent Ladies. Again all together we drove tothe central hotel in Uppsala where was heldthe get together party, which consisted in avery good soup and bread and butter, muchsinging (the Swedish are singing much and magically)and of course a lot of alcohol which can’tbe missed in this northern country. The eveningwas very nice, because most of the presentmembers where between the thirties and thefifties and with this very young. I, with my 52years was already one of the oldies, which isn’tusual in the other countries, which I could visit.We didn’t go too late to bed, because for thenext morning was organized a real deer, foxand rabbit hunting. So we left the hotel at 07.30o’clock and drove in the open nature surroundedby wonderful forests and meadows.On the way we were stopped by a Swedish Policecheck point and our 41er driver JanFrendin had to do the alcohol test, which I experiencedfor the first time in my live. Luckyeverything was fine so that we could continueour drive. We drove to the property Henriksbergowned by the true Ex Tabler and now41er Anders Söderman, situated in the middleof the forest, where we met two professionalhunters and some of us with Bengt (also ahunter) and the national Swedish I.R.O. StaffanAronsohn, who was as I no hunter. There wewhere equipped with warm Swedish MilitaryM90 uniforms in order to keep warm, becausethe temperature was quite low, especially forme a man from the south. On the end the animalshave been much happier so that no trophiescould be achieved. But we could live theexperience of nice walks, fresh air and a wonderfulsilence.After this unique experience we drove back tothe hotel, where we could change and thenmeet for the lunch in the nearby Markan, an exsoldier canteen, because all the area was oncea army barracks. After the lunch, much singingand alcohol I was invited to hold my speechwhich was very good, because I could also talkto the present ladies of Ladies Circle and Tangent.After this much fun was made with a kindof Norwegian Karaoke, but with the difference,that someone got earphones and had to imitatethe music but only with buh buh buh or bahbah bah singing and the other had to discoverwhich music they were hearing. So you canimagine what funny facial expressions we couldsee and incredible human tones we could hear.All this developed much fun and laugh.Half-Yearly Meeting, Sursee Central Switzerland 23 - 25th October 2009In the later afternoon most of us retiredin their hotel rooms to rest and changefor the Saturday evening, which wasn’t agala evening, but much more simple andwith much more comfortable dresses. Theevening was organised in the “Officersmässen”,an ex officer casino so thiswas very nice, because we could reach itby walking a short distance. Again Bengtcame with a very nice and new idea invitingall the gentlemen in the hall, while allthe ladies had to stay out. Once all themen where in the hall we got a big “litterPVC bag” which we had to put over ourhead and shoulders in order that youcouldn’t recognise who was who!°. So wewere sitting, once the ladies entered theroom and had to choose next to whichPVC covered man she wanted to sit. Alreadythis brought a lot of fun, while someman had to fight to get enough air, whilesome ladies were surprised or maybe alsonot to sit next to a man she never expected,or she didn’t know and had the possibilityto learn a new friend. The dinner wasserved and made with this very happy the Int’lPresident, because I adore to be served on theSaturday Dinner. After this the banner exchange,which was done with much fun. Finishedthe dinner the dancer could enjoy theevening, lot of talks where made and newfriendship build up. This evening became verylong, but lucky the hotel was not very far fromthe event.The next morning was very nice for me, becauseI could sleep longer, which I couldn’t dothe two mornings before. Around 14.00 o’clockBengt arrived with his wife and brought meback to the airport. So I arrived to Munich onthe later evening, stood the night over thereand went back home on the following Mondayhaving experience a wonderful H.Y.M. in Sweden,so different and nice with a lot of friendshipwith many younger 41ers and Tangent anda great will to make 41 Sweden better and bigger.NATIONAL HYM OF OLD TABLERS SWEDEN11
