This is the last month it will be inserted in The Breeze. It is the resident’s requirement to submit it. If you are a tenant and the homeowner of the property did not mail you the form, please stop by the Community Center to obtain and complete one. You can also call me at 638-5017 or Virginia at 638-5006, and we can E-mail, fax or send you one. Don’t be caught being called to a hearing for not returning it. It is a mandatory required form. LANDSCAPING – Please start checking your yard for weeds, removal of dead stalks from your bushes and required trimming should start soon. Also, remember that once the temperatures start to climb you will need to check your sprinklers/drip system and timers. It costs less to do that than to replace dead bushes and trees. NEW HOMEOWNERS – Please remember once you close escrow you need to provide the Membership office with a copy of your driver’s license and contact information, along with your current mailing address. You can contact Virginia at 638-5006, and she can provide you with the necessary documents required by the association. Also, please don’t hesitate to stop by and introduce yourself. We welcome you. SEASONAL HOMEOWNERS – If you only visit your property occasionally, please make sure you make arrangements for someone to check your property. When a home has flyers and newspapers lying around, it creates an invitation for theft and robbery. It also creates a mess as the miscellaneous papers blow throughout the neighborhood. COMMIttEE NEWS CoMMuniCations CoMMittee How to add a sun City aliante Website icon to your desktop An icon is a graphic image, a small picture or object, which represents a file, program, command or web page. Icons help you open programs, documents or quickly execute commands. You can add an icon to your desktop for the Sun City Aliante Website. Here’s how you do it: 1. Access the Internet. 2. Go to the Sun City Aliante Website. (www.scalnlv.com) 3. Click on the HoMe dropdown menu. 4. Click on Resident Login. 5. Log onto the Resident page 6. Once you are logged on, right click somewhere on the page where it is blank (no graphic of text). 7. Select Create sHortCut from the menu that pops up. 8. Click oK to confirm. You now have the icon on your desktop. The next time you double-click it, you will go directly to the Sun City Aliante Website login screen. Your Communications Committee tHe lifestYle CoMMittee The Lifestyle Committee had a very long and eventful meeting on January 26. The Committee followed up with recent community event leaders to discuss the outcome of their recent events. Representatives from the High Tea, Thanksgiving, Decorating and New Year’s Eve groups shared their valuable feedback. Their input will help to shape future events here in our community. Our event planners deserve a “huge” thank you for putting on these events, giving their personal time and making our community a better place to live. Volunteers add to the fabric of our lifestyle at Sun City Aliante. If you would like to give our community a hand, please be sure to see Lynn Wright, Activities & Fitness Director, or Lifestyle Committee members on how you can join in and have some fun. Joining an event’s committee or being an event leader is a great way to meet residents, make friends and influence changes within your community. If you want to start a new club, please be sure to follow these simple steps: 1. Check in with Lynn Wright, Activities & Fitness Director, for step by step instructions. 2. Lynn will place an interest sheet on the activities counter so you can poll for future interest. Residents should then go to the monitor’s desk to place their name on the interest sheet. 3. If there is enough resident interest, Lynn will give you a simple one page document to be completed for your new club or special interest group. 4. Then, prior to attending the next Lifestyle Committee meeting, you will contact all interested residents to discuss your plans for the club and seek a consensus on days/time and any other important policies and procedures for your club. 5. Meet with the Lifestyle Committee to present your club’s plan, appropriate procedures and completed paperwork to become a club. (The Lifestyle Committee meets on the third Thursday of each month at 10 a.m. Be sure to put yourself on the agenda with Lynn Wright, no later than the Thursday before the regularly scheduled Lifestyle meeting.) 6. If all is in order, the Lifestyle Committee will be able to vote on your request. 7. If passed by the Lifestyle Committee, your request will move forward to the Board of Directors for final approval. Sally Dobson Lifestyle News for Your safetY Porch lights & Carriage lights The North Las Vegas Police Department recommends you turn on our porch lights and the carriage lights on your garage at night. It helps the police, as well as the Neighborhood Watch patrols, driving around after dark to see the front of your home. Make sure your porch lights, doorbell lights and the lights for your address numbers are in working order and not burned out.
