In that time, herseverance package has been exhausted, the Oakwood resident said.On unemployment, Ms. Matteo said she sold her stock to attend classes at theCollege of Staten Island.With only 14 credits from Pace University many years ago, Ms. Matteo said the experience is fresh.“It’s interesting, because now that everyone got over the fact that I’m not the professor — there was a lot ofhush when I walked into the room on the first week — but I go in the day time, which has predominantlykids out of high school coming for their first experience in college,” Ms. Matteo said. “In many ways, it’s myfirst experience in college, too.”She’s thrilled with the experience, she said, and thinks she aspires to become a historian, but isn’t certain.“It’s a lot of work.
