<strong>The</strong> Chatt Centre at 3 Robert Street is the<br />

town’s information centre. <strong>The</strong> Centre provides a<br />

number of services including internet, email, fax and<br />

minlaton<br />

<strong>The</strong> Harvest Corner <strong>Yorke</strong> <strong>Peninsula</strong> Visitor<br />

Information Centre at Minlaton is the major<br />

information centre for Central and Southern <strong>Yorke</strong><br />

<strong>Peninsula</strong>, conveniently located at 29 Main Street. SA<br />

Tourism Award silver medal winners in 2006 and 2007,<br />

gold medallists in 2008, and has also won the 2009,<br />

2010 and 2011 State’s best visitor information centre.<br />

In 2011 Harvest Corner was inducted into the South<br />

Australian Tourism Hall of Fame.<br />

Fully accredited, it is open seven days a week,<br />

with an excellent variety of information about the<br />

<strong>Peninsula</strong>, with brochures and maps and the ability<br />

to source information from further afield. <strong>The</strong><br />

volunteers of Harvest Corner received an award for<br />

their contribution to Tourism in 2006, and their local<br />

knowledge is invaluable to visitors.<br />

Harvest Corner is also home to tea rooms and<br />

a gallery, displaying and selling a comprehensive<br />

collection of high quality crafts and produce.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Progress Association has an information office<br />

in the Town Hall, 19 Marine Parade.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Town Office is staffed by volunteers and open<br />

Wednesdays and Fridays, 10 am to 12 noon.<br />

Services available include photocopying, photoscanning,<br />

typing, email and internet access.<br />

Information is also available in the form of<br />

pamphlets, brochures, maps and information on<br />

walking trails and other tourist attractions.<br />

stansbury<br />

<strong>The</strong> Visitor Centre, corner of Weaver and Towler<br />

Streets, is another excellent source of information<br />

including accommodation listings, brochures,<br />

maps and advice on town and district services and<br />

attractions.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Centre is open 9 am to 5 pm Monday to<br />

Friday, and from September through to April, open<br />

weekends 10am to 2pm. <strong>The</strong>re is a range of holiday<br />

memorabilia for sale.<br />

S.Y.P. Community Telecentre at <strong>Yorke</strong>town<br />

provides a range of information services and is<br />

Caravan parks on the <strong>Peninsula</strong> are excellent<br />

sources of information and suggestions for visitors.<br />

<strong>The</strong> District Council’s Principal Office at Maitland,<br />

and Regional Offices at Minlaton, Warooka and<br />

<strong>Yorke</strong>town offer tourism information and guidance<br />

Set along rugged coastline, the southern tip of<br />

<strong>Yorke</strong> <strong>Peninsula</strong>, is home to Innes National Park.<br />

Attracting approximately 125,000 visitors annually,<br />

offering majestic headlands and sweeping beaches,<br />

Innes National Park provides the perfect backdrop for a<br />

seaside escape. As the largest area of native vegetation<br />

remaining on the <strong>Yorke</strong> <strong>Peninsula</strong>, this natural mallee<br />

bushland provides excellent opportunities to see<br />

native animals in their natural habitat.<br />

Innes National Park invites you to dive, surf and<br />

fish its clear, blue waters or immerse yourself in the<br />

Park along the trails and boardwalks. From an easy<br />

30 minute stroll amongst the ruins of an abandoned<br />

gypsum-mining village, to a half-day hike, the<br />

walking trails showcase the Park’s stunning scenery<br />

and some of the 300 native flora species.<br />

If camping beneath the stars is more your<br />

style, Innes offers a choice of eight campgrounds.<br />

With just a short stroll to the beach, the recently<br />

upgraded Pondalowie Campground boasts new<br />

gas BBQs and toilet facilities. Other more secluded<br />

campsites are available throughout the park,<br />

including Shell Beach and Cable Bay.<br />

<strong>Entry</strong> and camping fees apply in the Park. Permits<br />

can be purchased at the Visitor Centre or from selfregistration<br />

stations adjacent to the Visitor Centre,<br />

Gym Beach or Innes Park Trading Post. Vehicles must<br />

display a valid permit at all times while in the Park.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Visitor Centre is the official entry point into<br />

the Park, offering brochures and information about<br />

the area, as well as National Parks Passes for those<br />

regular National Park visitors. Pets are not allowed<br />

in the Park and fire restrictions apply between<br />

November 1st and April 30th, but these dates may<br />

vary due to seasonal conditions.<br />
