The field of 27golfers, split into two flights, featuredmore than 20 from out oftown.Barlau defended his 2011 titleby shooting a one-under par 67,which was 10 shots better than secondplace finisher Earl Cherry ofRifle. John Savage, also of Rifle,finished with the third best grossscore (79) in the first flight.Meeker’s Irv Griffin tied withMike Chastain of Rifle with thethird best net score (66) in the firstflight.
