6SP A, SPAccessoriesMCB 114 sensor input moduleThe MCB 114 offers additional analog inputs for theCUE:• 1 analog input, 0/4-20 mA• 2 inputs for Pt100 and Pt1000 temperature sensors.Output filtersOutput filters are used primarily to protect the motoragainst overvoltage and increased operatingtemperature. However, output filters can also be usedto reduce acoustic noise from the motor.Grundfos offers two types of output filter asaccessories for the CUE:• dU/dt filters• sine-wave filters.SensorsThe following sensors can be used in connection withthe CUE. All sensors are with 4-20 mA output signal.• pressure sensors, up to 25 bar• temperature sensors• differential-pressure sensors• differential-temperature sensors• flowmeters• potentiometer box for external setpoint setting.Use of output filtersThe table below shows in which cases an output filteris required. From the table, it can be seen if a filter isneeded, and which type to use.The selection depends on these factors:• pump type• motor cable length• the required reduction of acoustic noise from themotor.Pump typeTypical shaftpower, P2dU/dt filterSine-wavefilterCables used in CUE installationsNote: When the CUE is installed in connection withSP pumps, we distinguish between two types ofinstallation:• installation in EMC-insensitive sites. See fig. 16.• installation in EMC-sensitive sites. See fig. 17.The two types of installation are different when itcomes to the use of screened cable.Note: Drop cables are always unscreened.Mains cable, unscreenedFig. 16 Example of installation in EMC-insensitive sitesMains cable, unscreenedCUECUEScreenedcableScreenedcableFilterFilterDrop cable, unscreenedScreenedcableConnection boxFig. 17 Example of installation in EMC-sensitive sitesTM04 4296 1109TM04 4295 1109SP with 380 V motorand upThe lengths stated apply to the motor cable.Up to 7.5 kW - 0-300 m11 kW and up 0-150 m 150-300 mScreened cables are required in those parts of theinstallation where the surroundings must be protectedagainst EMC.78
