What is personal <strong>in</strong>formation?Personal <strong>in</strong>formation <strong>in</strong>cludes your name,address and other contact details, age, gender,occupation, <strong>in</strong>surance profile or driv<strong>in</strong>g record.It also <strong>in</strong>cludes details of <strong>in</strong>surance policiesyou hold and any changes that you make.How do we collect yourpersonal <strong>in</strong>formation?We collect your personal <strong>in</strong>formation <strong>in</strong> variousways, for example, over the phone, <strong>in</strong> one of ourdistributor’s premises, <strong>in</strong> one of our offices orover the <strong>in</strong>ternet if you transact with us onl<strong>in</strong>e.Whenever possible, we collect your personal<strong>in</strong>formation from you. However, we may collectpersonal <strong>in</strong>formation about you from someoneelse. A request will be denied,for example, if a document conta<strong>in</strong>s:1. Confidential <strong>in</strong>formation provided bypeople or organisations other than you;2. Information that may lead to theidentification of the person/s ororganisation/s who provided theconfidential <strong>in</strong>formation; or3. Commercially-sensitive <strong>in</strong>formationwhich discloses our claims<strong>in</strong>vestigation procedures.Where we deny access to some or all of thedocuments requested, we will provide reasonsand you will have the right to request a reviewof our decision through our compla<strong>in</strong>ts handl<strong>in</strong>gprocedures.
