<strong>Emerson</strong> <strong>Network</strong> <strong>Power</strong> <strong>Rack</strong> <strong>PDUs</strong>Inline Metering System (IMS) –Optimum upgrade solution forexisting installationsMonitoring is already part of the everydayroutine in most data centers when it comesto system availability. For this reason youdecide with new systems for socket strips/<strong>PDUs</strong> with integrated monitoring (Managed<strong>PDUs</strong> or Adaptive <strong>PDUs</strong>). But what doyou do with existing systems in which socketstrips/<strong>PDUs</strong> are usually installed withoutmeasuring functions?<strong>Emerson</strong> <strong>Network</strong> <strong>Power</strong>'s solutionfor this is called IMS (Inline MeteringSystem). These modules allow existingracks with installed basic power distributorsto be upgraded accordingly. As almost allserver racks are supplied with an A anda B-feed,later installation is possiblewithout interruption. The IMS modulescan also be installed space-savingly insideor outside the rack, e.g. in the shelf. TheInline Metering Systems (IMS) are dividedinto three different product groups, withdifferent features.<strong>Emerson</strong> <strong>Network</strong> <strong>Power</strong> InlineMetering Systems (IMS) benefits:■ Existing rack <strong>PDUs</strong> do not have to beswapped out, as the modules■ All consumers (where possible) can beintegrated into the monitoring system,as numerous plug systems are provided(1ph – 3ph, max. 63A per phase).■ Flexible installation inside or outside therack (e.g. in raised floor).Inline Metering System (IMS)IMS model series overview:Knürr DI-STRIP IMSLiebert MPX IMSKnürr MODULAR IMSFeatures:■ Fast installation and easy data recording with graphic and numericalpower consumption overview; can be retrieved via web interface.■ The power value can be read directly on the rack, as a local display isinstalled in every module.■ An N-conductor overload with 3-phase systems can be prevented, as thephase symmetry is monitored.■ Alarm signal when incidents occur, as the threshold values (phasesymmetry, bottom limit, pre-warning and alarm) can be set flexibly.Features:■ Liebert <strong>Rack</strong> <strong>PDUs</strong> familiar software interface, as the samecommunication card as with Liebert MPX/MPH is used.■ Highest possible safety, security and availability with an operatingtemperature of max. 55°C.■ Extensive measurement functions (power, current, voltage and energy),with higher measurement accuracy of up to +-1%.■ An N-conductor overload with 3-phase systems can be prevented, as theN-conductor current is monitored.■ Easy connection to the network with only 1 IP address of up to 4 LiebertMPX IMS / MPH / MPX .■ External sensors and a display can also be connected.Features:■ Extensive measurement functions (power, current, voltage, energy andpower factor), with higher measurement accuracy of up to 0.17% referringto the end value.■ Very high input currents can be measured (up to 850A per phase viaexternal transducer).■ The modular setup means the solution can be adjusted customer-specific(e.g. up to 4 in-feeds per module with different input plugs or even fixed.■ Up to 75 modules can be controlled via one IP address.■ Saving in external databases possible without additional software.2.58
