Effective Range Theory of Bethe-Landau-Schwinger and Chiral Perturbation Theory ofWeinbergTruong Nguyen TranIt is emphasized that the effective range theory of Bethe-Landau-Schwinger, derived from a potential picture andthe Schrodinger equation, is equivalent to therequirement of the conservation ofprobability(unitarity)at low energy. Although thisconcept was applied to the low energy physics in the 50'sand 60's and was correctly applied to of Chiral Theoriesby Lehmann later, it was completely ignored byWeinberg and his followers in their perturbativeapproach to chiral perturbation theories.
