SG-235 ManualIf broadband operation is required during scanning operations, jumper JP-2on the printed circuit board inside the coupler may be set to the ÒYESÓ mode.This will bypass tuning elements on Receive. Jumper JP-2 is located adjacent tothe shield along the edge of the printed circuit board.In some cases, it may be desirable to re-tune the coupler and bypass the memoryinformation. If you wish to bypass the recalled tuning solutions, placejumper JP-1, also located near U2, to the ÒNOÓ position.Note: The SG-235 can be forced to retune in every new frequency, even if JP-1is set to ÒYes,Ó by the following operations of the Smartlock:1. Engage ÒTune lock.Ó2. Press Reset once.3. Disengage ÒTune lock.Ó(See Section 9.2.)1.4 Coupler Network ConfigurationThe coupler network configuration is designed with 64 different input capacitorvalues, 32 output capacitor values, and 256 inductor values, thus providingabout a half million different ¹ or L configurations. The coupler requires aninput of 5 to 500 watts to operate.1.5 Operation IndicatorsOperational status of the coupler and the onboard computerÕs tuning decisionsis displayed by five LEDs, which are located on the microcontroller unit (MCU)printed circuit board (PCB). These indicators are visible only when the coverof the coupler is removed. These five LEDs are not designed to be interpretedby other than factory and trained service personnel.SGC Inc.
