11THE ENVIRONMENTThe Port of Tyne recognises that it plays an important part in the economic,environmental and social life of the surrounding communities.The Port is committed to developing sustainable operations and minimisingany adverse impacts it may have on the environment.
RECOMMENDED PAPER STOCKSAll branded pieces should be reproduced on the mostsustainable materials available. Printed papers should besmooth, white, and with an uncoated, silk or gloss finish.Printing using vegetable-based inks where possibleis advised.Printing and paper should be sourced from local supplierswherever possible to minimise the carbon footprint fromresource to end product.
