PIMS Installation
Step Description
1 Transmit Closed/Released PTF records.
PTF edit checks have been changed and enhanced as part of PIMS
v5.3. As a result, a PTF record closed under v5.2 may not transmit
after v5.3 is installed. (Before a PTF record is transmitted, it is
processed through the edit checker one additional time.)
If the record is not transmitted and the edit checker does find a
problem, the PTF record will be reopened. It will need to be closed and
released again under the new edit checks of v5.3.
The PTF Transmission option of the PTF Menu should be used to
transmit PTF records. Contact your MAS ADPAC.
2 Get users off system(s).
3 Backup system(s).
4 Disable routine mapping (DSM). Disable journalling.
There is one new global, ^SCE. The ^SCE global contains the
OUTPATIENT ENCOUNTER file (#409.68). This global MUST be
placed with the appropriate protection assigned to it before running
the SDINIT inits. If possible, the ^SCE global should be placed on the
same system where most appointments are made.
Note: For MSM systems, SET ^SCE="" on the desired system and
then use %GCH to set proper protection on the new global.
5 Sign into UCI where package is to be loaded.
(Use 28k partition for MSM)
