US Ambassador to the Philippines Visits <strong>Sutherland</strong> <strong>Global</strong> <strong>Services</strong> in Davao City;<br />

<strong>Sutherland</strong> Reaffirms Commitment to the Region<br />

DAVAO CITY, PHILIPPINES – JULY 17, 2009 -- <strong>Sutherland</strong> <strong>Global</strong> <strong>Services</strong>, a leading multinational<br />

Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) provider, welcomed Kristie A. Kenney, US<br />

Ambassador to the Philippines, to its Davao Delivery Center. The Ambassador’s party included<br />

distinguished officers from the USAID office who were welcomed by <strong>Sutherland</strong> Vice President and<br />

Country Manager, Craig Bauwens along with Davao Operations Director, Ranjit Ebenezer, and other<br />

local <strong>Sutherland</strong> executives and employees.<br />

Commenting on the occasion, Ambassador Kenney said, “I am amazed with your commitment and<br />

growth you have experienced in this part of the country. I am happy to visit <strong>Sutherland</strong> here in Davao<br />

City where you employ talented young Filipinos and give them amazing career opportunities.” During her<br />

visit to the operations center, the Ambassador met with the employees.<br />

<strong>Sutherland</strong> has grown its Davao operations to over 1,500 employees in the last year and a half – its third<br />

largest delivery center in the country. The center handles a variety of front and back office business<br />

processes supporting the clients representing the Information Technology, Communications and Retail,<br />

Banking & Finance industries. <strong>Sutherland</strong>’s Davao Delivery Center is equipped with state-of-the-art<br />

infrastructure, connectivity, employee recreational areas and a secured working environment.<br />

Commenting on the global financial crisis affecting US companies and the Philippines, Ambassador<br />

Kenney said, “You help make American companies become stronger. You provide excellent service to<br />

the customers of these American firms and in doing so help these companies and the American economy.<br />

With delighted customers, companies continue to survive this financial crisis, develop new products,<br />

continue to be more successful, and create more jobs, both back home and here in Davao.”<br />
