<strong>Removing</strong><br />

– Remove cover from <strong>en</strong>gine.<br />

– For vehicles <strong>wi</strong>th coded radio unit, note or obtain code.<br />

– Disconnect battery earth strap.<br />

– Th<strong>en</strong> remove hydraulic control unit → Chapter.<br />

– Pull connector -arrow- off vehicle speed<br />

s<strong>en</strong>der -G68-.<br />

– Th<strong>en</strong> release connector -arrow- for<br />

gearbox speed s<strong>en</strong>der -G38- and pull off.<br />

– If insulation tray is installed below <strong>en</strong>gine<br />

and gearbox, remove it.<br />

– Loos<strong>en</strong> lock nut -B- and adjusting nut on<br />

clutch cable.<br />

– Unhook clutch cable from operating lever<br />

of gearbox.<br />

– Pull slave cylinder out of retainer -arrow-<br />

and support -A- on gearbox.<br />

– Lay slave cylinder to side and secure. Do<br />

not op<strong>en</strong> hydraulic system.<br />

– Unbolt retainer -arrow- from gearbox.<br />

<strong>Removing</strong><br />

– Remove all other retainers and lines from<br />

gearbox.<br />

– Remove starter → Electrical system; Rep.<br />

Gr.27.<br />

– Pull off connector -arrow 1-.<br />

– Disconnect exhaust system b<strong>en</strong>eath<br />

vehicle and unhook from subframe → 3cylinder<br />

diesel <strong>en</strong>gine, mechanics; Rep.<br />

Gr.26.<br />

– Remove selector finger -A- by loos<strong>en</strong>ing<br />

bolt -1-.<br />

– Unbolt gear actuator from gearbox -B-<br />

(bolts -2- and -3-).<br />

– Tie up gear actuator as high as possible<br />

and secure <strong>wi</strong>th <strong>wi</strong>re. Do not op<strong>en</strong><br />

hydraulic system.<br />

– Remove drive sh<strong>af</strong>ts → Running gear,<br />

axles, steering; Rep. Gr.40.<br />

<strong>Removing</strong><br />

– Remove p<strong>en</strong>dulum support, removing bolts<br />

-1-, nut -2- and bolt -3-.<br />

– Unbolt earth cable.<br />

– Remove upper <strong>en</strong>gine/gearbox connecting<br />

bolts.<br />

– Assemble support bracket -10 - 222 A- in<br />

conjunction <strong>wi</strong>th racks -10 - 222 A8- and<br />

adapters -10 - 222 A3-.<br />

<strong>Removing</strong><br />

– Now attach hook -10 - 222 A2- at lower<br />

right of <strong>en</strong>gine bracket.<br />

– Th<strong>en</strong> attach hook -10 - 222 A2- to support<br />

bracket.<br />

– Take up weight of <strong>en</strong>gine/gearbox<br />

assembly on spindles.<br />

– Remove hexagon bolts -arrows- for<br />

gearbox from left gearbox support.<br />

– Carefully tilt <strong>en</strong>gine and gearbox. To do<br />

this, lower left spindle on support bar -10 -<br />

222 A-.<br />

– To align gearbox support -3282-, use<br />

adjustm<strong>en</strong>t plate -3282/28-.<br />

– Place adjustm<strong>en</strong>t plate -3282/28- on<br />

gearbox support -3282-. (Adjustm<strong>en</strong>t plate<br />

fits in only one position).<br />

– Align arms of gearbox support according to<br />

holes in adjustm<strong>en</strong>t plate.<br />

<strong>Removing</strong><br />

– Screw in adjustm<strong>en</strong>t plate -3282/52- (-A-)<br />

and pin -3282/29- (-C-), as shown on<br />

adjustm<strong>en</strong>t plate.<br />

– Position <strong>en</strong>gine and gearbox jack under<br />

vehicle. -Arrow B- (figure above) on<br />

adjustm<strong>en</strong>t plate points in direction of<br />

vehicle travel.<br />

– Align adjustm<strong>en</strong>t plate parallel to gearbox.<br />

<strong>Removing</strong><br />

– Th<strong>en</strong> screw pins -3282/29- into holes on<br />

gearbox for securing bolts of p<strong>en</strong>dulum<br />

support -arrows-.<br />

– Remove lower <strong>en</strong>gine/gearbox securing<br />

bolts -1- and -2-.<br />

– Press gearbox off dowel sleeves and tilt<br />

gearbox to left using spindles of gearbox<br />

support -3282-.<br />

– Lower gearbox carefully.<br />

– Change position of gearbox near subframe<br />

and body on left by lowering via spindles of<br />

<strong>en</strong>gine and gearbox jack.<br />
