Mr Fernández isalso a member of the Board of Directors of GrupoBimbo, Minera Penmont, Química del Rey and Tecnologíadel Agua (TECSA) and an alternate directorof FEMSA and BBVA Bancomer. Mr Fernández hasbeen the rector of ITAM, an independent not-forprofithigher education institution, for 17 years. Healso previously served as the head of the tax policyoffice at the Mexican Ministry of Finance and ashead of the economic deregulation office at theMexican Ministry of Trade. Mr Fernández holds abachelor of economics from ITAM as well as a PhDin economics from the University of Chicago.Guy WilsonNON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, 62 years oldChairman, Audit <strong>Committee</strong>Guy Wilson joined the Board on 1 July 2008 followinghis retirement from Ernst & Young LLP. He joinedErnst & Young in 1967 and became a partner in1979. Since 1972, he has specialised in corporatetransactions covering IPOs, public fund raisings,acquisitions, disposals and defences against hostilebids. From 1989 to 1991, he was seconded to HMTreasury to assist with the privatisations of the UKwater and electricity industries and Scottish electricity.From 2000, he primarily, but not exclusively,concentrated on transactions in the financial servicessector.Fernando SolanaNON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, 80 years oldAudit <strong>Committee</strong>Mr Solana was appointed to the Board on 18 February2009. He is currently President of SolanaConsultores, Chairman of the Mexican Council onForeign Relations and Chairman of the MexicanFund for Education and Development. He is also anassociate consultant of Analítica Consultores Asociadosas well as a member of the Boards of theEuroamerica Foundation in Madrid and the Instituteof the Americas at the University of California in SanDiego. He is a member of the Advisory Board of theLatin American Parliament. Previously, Mr Solanaserved in the Mexican government as Minister ofTrade (1976-1977), Minister of Education (1977-1982) and Minister of Foreign Affairs (1988-1993),and as a senator in the Parliament (1994-2000). MrSolana was President and CEO of Banco Nacionalde México (1982-1988), and served as Chairman ofthe Mexican Banking Association (1986-1987). MrSolana studied civil engineering, philosophy, publicpolicy and administration at the National Universityof Mexico.
