He is also anassociate consultant of Analítica Consultores Asociadosas well as a member of the Boards of theEuroamerica Foundation in Madrid and the Instituteof the Americas at the University of California in SanDiego. He is a member of the Advisory Board of theLatin American Parliament. Previously, Mr Solanaserved in the Mexican government as Minister ofTrade (1976-1977), Minister of Education (1977-1982) and Minister of Foreign Affairs (1988-1993),and as a senator in the Parliament (1994-2000). MrSolana was President and CEO of Banco Nacionalde México (1982-1988), and served as Chairman ofthe Mexican Banking Association (1986-1987).
