Newton Investment Management Limited, London (Great Britain) notified us via its letter dated May 5,<br />
2006 as per § 21 section 1 and § 22 section 1 of the German Securities Trading Act (WpHG) that its<br />
share of the voting rights in <strong>Praktiker</strong> <strong>Bau</strong>- <strong>und</strong> Heimwerkermärkte <strong>Holding</strong> <strong>AG</strong> exceeded the threshold<br />
of 5 % on March 31, 2006, rising to 5.07 % of available share capital. The share of 5.07 % of voting<br />
rights is allocable to it pursuant to § 22 section 1 subsection 1 no. 6 of the German Securities Trading<br />
Act (WpHG).<br />
Mellon Financial Corporation (One Mellon Center, 500 Grant Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania<br />
15258/USA) sent us the following notification on July 17, 2006:<br />
“Mellon Financial Corporation, Pittsburgh (Pennsylvania/USA) is the parent company of MBC Investments<br />
Corp. (4001 Kennett Pike, Suite 218, Greenville, Delaware 19807/USA), which, for its part, is<br />
the parent company of Neptune LLC (One Mellon Center, 500 Grant Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania<br />
15258/USA). The latter, for its part, is the parent company of Mellon International Limited (Mellon Financial<br />
Centre, 160 Queen Victoria Street London EC4V 4LA/Great Britain), which, for its part, is the<br />
parent company of Newton Management Limited (Mellon Financial Centre, 160 Queen Victoria Street,<br />
London EC4V 4LA/Great Britain). The latter is the parent company of Newton Investment Management<br />
Ltd., London (Great Britain).<br />
We, Mellon Financial Corporation, Pittsburgh (Pennsylvania/USA), MBC Investments Corp., Greenville<br />
(Delaware/USA), Mellon International Limited, London (Great Britain), Neptune LLC, Pittsburgh (Pennsylvania/USA)<br />
and Newton Management Limited, London (Great Britain), hereby notify you in accordance<br />
with § 21 section 1 subsection 1 of the German Securities Trading Act (WpGH) that our share<br />
of the voting rights in <strong>Praktiker</strong> <strong>Bau</strong>- <strong>und</strong> Heimwerkermärkte <strong>Holding</strong> <strong>AG</strong>, <strong>Kirkel</strong> exceeded the threshold<br />
of 5 % on March 31, 2006, rising to a level of 5.07 % as of this date. The voting rights are a direct<br />
entitlement of the clients of Newton Investment Management Ltd., London (Great Britain) and are allocable<br />
to us pursuant to § 22 section 1 subsection 1 no. 6 in conjunction with § 22 section 1 subsection<br />
2 of the German Securities Trading Act (WpHG).”<br />
On January 31, 2008, The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA, has<br />
informed us according to sec. 21 para. 1 WpHG that its voting rights on <strong>Praktiker</strong> <strong>Bau</strong>- <strong>und</strong> Heimwerkermärkte<br />
<strong>Holding</strong> <strong>AG</strong>, <strong>Kirkel</strong>, Germany, ISIN: DE000A0F6MD5, WKN: A0F6MD, had exceeded the 3<br />
% and 5 % limit of the voting rights on July 1, 2007, and on that day amounted to 7.46 % (this corresponds<br />
to 4,326,281 voting rights). These voting rights in <strong>Praktiker</strong> <strong>Bau</strong>- <strong>und</strong> Heimwerkermärkte <strong>Holding</strong><br />
<strong>AG</strong> were attributable to The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation pursuant to sec. 22 para. 1<br />
sent. 1 no. 6 in connection with sec. 22 para. 1 sent. 2 WpHG.<br />
