1/8" ribs provide additional
rigidity for wider on-center
spacing.
■ Enables double-up plastering to shorten
application time.
■ Smaller mesh openings aid keying and reduce
plaster usage.
■ 1/8“ ribs add rigidity.
■ Available in 2.75 and 3.4 lbs. per square yard.
■ Not suitable for contour plastering or use over
solid surfaces requiring 1/4” furring.
Dietrich 4-mesh z-riblath is a galvanized flat rib-type lath with
18 1/8" high ribs designed to provide additional rigidity for
wider spacing (16" O.C. and 19.2" O.C.) on flat plaster ceiling
applications and open frame studding without sheathing.
Smaller mesh openings and rigidity of ribs aid in keying and
enables double-up plastering, saving plastering time.
Double-up plastering is the process of applying the brown
coat before the scratch coat has fully hardened. Care must
be taken to ensure that the scratch coat is properly set.
Dietrich 4-mesh z-riblath is also used as a ceramic tile
backer over wood or steel stud framing when no sheathing
Metal Lath
is applied. The additional rigidity of the lath can be used
with wall framing members up to 24" O.C.
Attachment to the framing can be made by nailing, screwing
or stapling lath to framing with ribs across studs. Lath must
be wire-tied to framing or channel for ceiling applications.
Sheets are 27" by 96" and reversible for faster and easier
installation. Flat rib can be nailed to joists for direct
application to framing; however, wire tying is recommended
for all suspended ceiling applications over channel.
*4-Mesh 1/8" Z-Riblath is also available
with asphalt paper-backed for
applications that require a moisture
barrier. The glue-attached asphalt
paper also ensures a consistent plaster
or stucco depth and prevents excessive
plaster waste. Care should be taken to
make sure paper overlaps paper in a
shingle-like manner during application.
