Village-wide street repairs due in GPS
Motorists will soon have
barrels of fun in Grosse
Pointe Shores.
"We are going to have
more barrels and barricades
replacing concrete than we
did during the whole sewer
relining program," said
Brett Smith, head of public
works.
He hopes to start the village's
annual concrete repair
program next week. Workers
will replace sections of roadway
that have deteriorated,
not entire roads themselves.
"We're going to do a little
more concrete replacement
than normal," Smith said.
"We got hit pretty hard the
last couple years with the
freeze-thaw cycle."
Construction bids were
due for evaluation this
week.
