FMD IN JORDAN By - Middle East - OIE

FMD is endemic in Jordan (type O), which ischaracterized by classical form, low morbidity and mortalityexcept young lambs in non vaccinated sheep flocks. Farm infected with type A was different, casescharacterized by high morbidity (80-90%) and 34 animalsdied. Samples were collected and sent to WRL (Pirbright(Pirbright) ) forvirus isolation and sequencing, while the central lab inAmman used 3ABC Elisa, (RT-PCR 2007 and up).
