Sew afabric K 3-1/2" square to oppositesides of (2) fabric J 3-1/2" x 12-1/2" strips. Sew the J/K strips tothe top and bottom of the centersection of the block. Make 5blocks.Block B: Sew a fabric B 2-1/2" x 4-1/2" piece to opposite sides of afabric E 4-1/2" square. Sew a fabricB 2-1/2" x 8-1/2" strip to thetop and bottom of this unit. Sew afabric I 2-1/2" x 8-1/2" strip to oppositesides of the center blockunit. Sew a fabric L 2-1/2" squareto opposite sides of (2) fabric I 2-1/2" x 8-1/2" pieces, then sewthese units to the top/bottom ofthe center block unit. Sew a fabricD 3-1/2" x 6-1/2” strip to one endof a fabric H 3-1/2" x 6-1/2" strip.Make (2) units for each block for atotal of (8) units. Sew a fabric D 3-1/2" x 9-1/2” strip to one end of afabric H 3-1/2" x 9-1/2" strip.Make (2) units for each block for atotal of (8) units. Sew the shortunits D/H to opposite sides of aquilt block center. Sew the long D/H units to the top/bottom quiltblock center. Make 4 blocks.Sew the blocks together into (3) rows of (3) blocks each, alternating blocks A and B. Rows 1 and 3 begins andends with a block A and row 2 begins and ends with a block B.Border #1: Sew the fabric F 2-1/2" x 54-1/2" borders to opposite sides of the quilt center. Sew the fabric F 2-1/2" x58-1/2" borders to the top/bottom of the quilt center.Borders #2 and #3: Sew a fabric G 1-1/2" x 58-1/2" border #2 strip to opposite sides of a fabric A 5-1/2" x 58-1/2"border #3 strip to make a G-A-G border unit. Make 2 units. Sew these units to the top/bottom of the quilt center.Sew a fabric G 1-1/2" x 72-1/2" border strip to one side of a fabric C 6-1/2" x 72-1/2" border strip. Make 2. Sewthese borders to opposite sides of the quilt top.Border Corners: Sew a fabric G 1-1/2" x 4-1/2" to opposite sides of a fabric E 4-1/2" square. Sew a fabric G 1-1/2"x 6-1/2" square to the top/bottom of these units to complete a corner square. Make 4.Borders #4: Sew a corner border block to each end of the (2) fabric C 6-1/2" x 58-1/2" border strips. Sew the bordersto the top/bottom of the quilt to complete the project.Layer the quilt top, batting and backing. Quilt the layers together.
