They worked to a carefully prepared syllabus oftraining, practising over taped trenches as thoroughly asthey had done prior to Vimy. During this training therewere several cases of diphtheria developed and the Battalion was in quarantine from October 6th to 14th. OnOctober 10th the Battalion was warned to "assume mobileconditions" and the tactics in training were altered toconform to those used on the Somme.
