Inlate 2012, construction of the local heatingnetwork began, which was to supply around200 households with heat from renewables.100 % renewableAs 100 % of its heat supply comes fromrenewables, Wettesingen is currently the onlybioenergy village in Germany (as of March2013). The local heating network pipeline is10 km long in total.All the technology used comes fromViessmann's comprehensive product range.The existing biogas plant was extendedto include a further CHP unit, three woodcombustion systems and a biogas boiler.The overall thermal output is approximately2600 kW, while the electrical output is900 kW.
