Her group<strong>org</strong>anized outreach events such as Earthweek and lobbied for the ban of styrofoam use in school and encouragedthe use biodegradable packaging for takeaways. She was part of the <strong>Youth</strong> Environmental Envoy (YEE) Programme<strong>org</strong>anized by Singapore’s National Environment Agency where she deepened her knowledge on environmentalissues. In the YEE Championing Environmental Ownership project committee, she gave an outreach presentationto primary school children. Now, as an executive committee member of Avelife, she <strong>org</strong>anizes events such as theGreen Xchange programme (a recycling drive), CREATE (an arts & crafts workshop that turns recyclables into worksof art) and Avelife Microcosm (an environmental photography competition).Jong-Hoon KimRO Korea | saske07@naver.comJong-Hoon, 26, studies Mechanical Engineering at Changwon National University, with Offshore Plant Engineeringas his major. He is also involved in theproduction of “F<strong>org</strong>otten Teardrops: A Journey to the <strong>Seas</strong> of <strong>East</strong> Asia”, a made-for-TV film which follows theadventures of two teenagers as they visit successful environmental and economic sustainability projects alongthe <strong>East</strong> <strong>Asian</strong> coast. In 2008, he also volunteered for Mercy Global Concerns, an <strong>org</strong>anization that provides fundsto and raises awareness for Mercy Centre, an HIV/AIDS advocacy group in Thailand. In 2010, he joined the FencersClub, which aims to provide scholarships for athlete fencers from low-income families.59
