Health ServicesAt PUC, students have access to a variety of services to benefit the body whilethey are expanding their minds.Health ClinicPUC’s on-campus clinic provides a broad range of services including lab testing, physicianconsultation, wound treatment, minor surgical procedures, and more. For services the clinicis unable to provide, PUC contracts with local specialists and medical facilities to ensurethat your student has constant access to top of the line medical care in every area.Friendly Face: Sandy Sargent, RN, health clinic director(707) 965-6339, ssargent@puc.eduSandy is a registered nurse who coordinates the staff of PUC’s healthclinic. “I’ve worked in many different capacities as a nurse, and I love thepopulation that I serve here,” she says.Student Health PlanAll enrolled students are required to carry PUC’s low deductiblegroup health plan regardless of individual coverage. This planassures that your student will be covered if they need higher levelsof care than what is offered on campus, such as radiology services,surgery, and emergency care. This 12-month secondary planallows access to care at an affordable rate with our local hospitaland nearby medical providers. Take a moment to familiarizeyourself with the plan’s conditions and limitations at puc.edu/studenthealthplan. For more information, you may contact theon-campus plan administrator at (707) 965-6231.To access the health plan funds, students must visit the health clinicfor pre-authorization whenever outside medical care is indicatedand/or requested. In cases of an actual emergency it is required thatstudents call (707) 965-6789 within 24 hours of care received.Counseling<strong>The</strong> Career & Counseling Center offers more than just careeradvice. Students have access to up to 10 sessions per academic yearof personal or addiction counseling in a supportive, confidentialenvironment. If you think your student could benefit from speakingwith a professionally trained counselor, refer them to the center at(707) 965-7080.A Safe CampusPUC’s Public Safetyteam seeks to maintaina safe, securelearning and livingenvironment for ourstudents. Servicesprovided includevehicle assistancesuch as campuspatrols, batteryjump starts, and oncampusrides fromdusk to dawn.
