As a distributed network, there are twoconsiderations: the network topology (‗what is connected to what, with what constraints?‘)and the physical location (‗what is physically near what?‘). In terms of topologies, <strong>MTWAN</strong>employs either a single-AS TGAN topology or a multiple-AS TGAN topology. The latter isgenerally employed to allow nations within an <strong>MTWAN</strong> to administer their own mobile units.SINGLE AS TGAN TOPOLOGY110. An example of a single-AS TGAN is shown in Figure 1–2. All mobile units and theNOC belong to the same AS. Some of the mobile units may have connectivity back tothe Allied WAN via a national node or NOC. When this connectivity is achieved, the NOCforms part of the AS.
