<strong>KSS</strong> Graduation June 13 th …All 8-11 graders in b<strong>and</strong> will be performing atthe graduation ceremony at the Kitsap SunPavilion. Graduation is on a Thursday <strong>and</strong>students will be released at 12:35p as normal.The b<strong>and</strong> schedule looks like this…3:00p- Call time, all b<strong>and</strong> students in the b<strong>and</strong> room.3:30p- Depart for pavilion.4:00p- Arrive unload, setup, warm up, rehearse, eat.6:00p- Doors open.7:00p- Ceremony starts.8:00p- Ceremony ends.8:45p- Load.9:00p- Depart for <strong>KSS</strong>.9:30p- Arrive at <strong>KSS</strong>, unload, leave.***All students should bring a sack/beverage to eat justbefore doors open at 6p!4 th Quarter Grades <strong>and</strong> Assignments…•8-12 graders, start working onperformance competencies now, don’tprocrastinate! KEBPA is looking for volunteers!!!The success of our program relies on parent volunteers. Weare looking for volunteers to step up <strong>and</strong> steer importantpositions for our booster program. These coordinatorsshould not shoulder all of the responsibilities themselves butrather develop a team of volunteers focused on these specificactivities. Please read below <strong>and</strong> contact Angie Shiell aticedancer92271@yahoo.com if you can help us out!Equipment coordinator: important to have for the spring when we travel forparades. Coordinates with students on what goes in the trailer, itsorganization/maintenance. Knowledge of where all equipment is at whenwe travel.Fundraising coordinator: we need to have accessible <strong>and</strong> profitablefundraisers for our students <strong>and</strong> families. This person's sole responsibilitywould be to increase revenue for our program. Seeks fundraisingopportunities for students as individuals as well as events that support theorganization as a whole. Coordinates with treasurer on which studentsneed to fundraise <strong>and</strong> track the incoming money. Grant writing experiencehelps!Meals & Food coordinator: when we travel or have an event this personneeds to be thinking about the student's food/beverage intake. Should beable to organize a team to purchase (or acquire) food <strong>and</strong> prepare/serve itto our performers.Publicity coordinator: advertises electronically <strong>and</strong> otherwise <strong>KSS</strong> b<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong>guard events (performances, fundraisers), make announcements via <strong>KSS</strong>b<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> guard Facebook pages, issue weekly email.6


Recruitment & Retention coordinator: we need to ensure students movefrom 6th grade to <strong>KSS</strong> <strong>and</strong> that they retain from year to year. This startswith the families! We need someone who can create a network of people toreach out to young families <strong>and</strong> involve them at <strong>KSS</strong>.Spring Auction coordinator: each spring KEBPA hosts an auctionfundraiser for our program. We are looking for 1-2 individuals who cancoordinate <strong>and</strong> manage this very important event.Travel coordinator: Responsible for recruiting chaperones for trips <strong>and</strong>training them for travel with the b<strong>and</strong>. Help develop the itinerary with theb<strong>and</strong> director. Ensures that students ALWAYS have a chaperone presencewhen traveling.Uniform coordinator: keeps an inventory <strong>and</strong> maintains <strong>KSS</strong> marchinguniforms. Creates a team of parents responsible for fitting <strong>and</strong> adjustinguniforms.Volunteer coordinator: this person will be everyone's first call if volunteersare needed. Assists coordinators with filling volunteer spots at events. Hasto have a network of parents/volunteers with varying strengths <strong>and</strong>backgrounds who can most efficiently assist our program.<strong>Color</strong> <strong>Guard</strong> coordinator: the color guard liaison. This device tells the musician whichnotes are not in tune.3) Solo music <strong>and</strong> method books to play: $10 to $25There are many music books for elementary <strong>and</strong> middle school studentsincluding Disney Favorites, Christmas Favorites, <strong>and</strong> Pop Favorites.
