Are you up to date? This course provides a<br />

comprehensive and accessible approach to the<br />

fast moving and complex area of discrimination<br />

law. The course will provide a summary of the<br />

Equality Act 2010 and its impact upon existing<br />

case law. Practical advice will be given on all<br />

aspects of discrimination law as the law stands<br />

currently and how it is likely to be affected when<br />

the Equality Act comes into force.<br />

Speaker: Peter Stevens is a partner and joint<br />

founder of Pure <strong>Employment</strong> <strong>Law</strong> which is<br />

based in Chichester and previously Head of<br />

<strong>Employment</strong> at a major regional law firm. He<br />

holds a Masters degree in <strong>Law</strong> and <strong>Employment</strong><br />

Relations and has a wealth of experience,<br />

primarily advising employers on all aspects of<br />

employment law. He has developed an enviable<br />

reputation for the practicality of his advice and<br />

in Chambers he was recognised as a ‘Leader in<br />

the Field’ in employment law and praised for<br />

“avoiding the courtroom in favour of commercial<br />

Speaker: Ed Davies originally studied and<br />

worked as an economist for the government<br />

economic service before switching to law,<br />

subsequently working for Freshfields and<br />

Olswang. He later moved into legal education,<br />

working initially for the College of <strong>Law</strong> and later<br />

as a senior lecturer at BPP. In recent years he has<br />

operated successfully as a freelance professional<br />

trainer and presenter, designing and delivering<br />

professional development and skills courses<br />

for organisations such as the Practical <strong>Law</strong><br />

Company, the Institute of Financial Services,<br />

Kaplan and the College of <strong>Law</strong>.<br />
