Summary Notes of the meeting between parents and Head Teachers

7°/ Cooperative scolaire / School Fund :We have appealed for donations to fund the parent cooperative of the school. The total amount raised will be dividedbetween the two Bilingual classes. Teachers are free to run their own budget (trips, visits or purchase of resources andequipment), but costs are always linked to an educational project for their class. The accounts will be “transparent” andvisible at the end of each quarter, especially during the “conseil d’école”. Cooperative committees will take place eachquarter with the Director, representatives of teachers and parents. In some cases there may be additional trips plannedand so we would ask parents to contribute.8°/ The school travel plan :This official document, with the invaluable assistance of a group of mothers, is available on the Lycée français officialweb site. We won a grant from the Borough with which we bought a bike shed. We started with a diagnosis established2 years ago now, in the form of a questionnaire to families, children and staff members, to better understand themobility of the pupils. This will be evaluated this year.9°/Parents involvement :Created in 1927, the APL is the unique parents' association for the establishments of South Kensington, André Malraux,Wix and Marie d' Orliac. It represents the collective interests of the parents with the teaching profession, with theadministration of the High school and the official bodies. It is apolitical and is open to all the parents whatever theirnationality and their opinions.At the beginning of a school year, all the parents are invited to become members of the APL by subscribing to theassociation. The members elect 20 people, all volunteers, who comprise the APL committee.This committee:- listens to all the families and informs them- organises and runs a delegates' network- represents and defends the interests of the parents at the Conseils d'Etablissement, at the Conseils d'Ecole as well as onthe diverse committees- contributes to the life of the High school in general by organising for example the Forum of careers at SouthKensington- offers the possibility of signing a third-party and accident insurance- collects funds for the benefit of both "Charities" associated with the high school:- "Friends of the high school" allows to finance school equipment or to make work which benefits daily all thepupils.- THE APL Welfare Fund helps financially families in trouble..You will find all the information concerning the APL on the site: www.apl-cdg.org.ukWe actively encourage contributions from Holy Cross parents. They are managed by anassociation (parents and teachers), not by the school.
