7°/ Cooperative scolaire / School Fund :We have appealed for donations to fund <strong>the</strong> parent cooperative <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> school. The total amount raised will be divided<strong>between</strong> <strong>the</strong> two Bilingual classes. <strong>Teachers</strong> are free to run <strong>the</strong>ir own budget (trips, visits or purchase <strong>of</strong> resources <strong>and</strong>equipment), but costs are always linked to an educational project for <strong>the</strong>ir class. The accounts will be “transparent” <strong>and</strong>visible at <strong>the</strong> end <strong>of</strong> each quarter, especially during <strong>the</strong> “conseil d’école”. Cooperative committees will take place eachquarter with <strong>the</strong> Director, representatives <strong>of</strong> teachers <strong>and</strong> <strong>parents</strong>. In some cases <strong>the</strong>re may be additional trips planned<strong>and</strong> so we would ask <strong>parents</strong> to contribute.8°/ The school travel plan :This <strong>of</strong>ficial document, with <strong>the</strong> invaluable assistance <strong>of</strong> a group <strong>of</strong> mo<strong>the</strong>rs, is available on <strong>the</strong> Lycée français <strong>of</strong>ficialweb site. We won a grant from <strong>the</strong> Borough with which we bought a bike shed. We started with a diagnosis established2 years ago now, in <strong>the</strong> form <strong>of</strong> a questionnaire to families, children <strong>and</strong> staff members, to better underst<strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong>mobility <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> pupils. This will be evaluated this year.9°/Parents involvement :Created in 1927, <strong>the</strong> APL is <strong>the</strong> unique <strong>parents</strong>' association for <strong>the</strong> establishments <strong>of</strong> South Kensington, André Malraux,Wix <strong>and</strong> Marie d' Orliac. It represents <strong>the</strong> collective interests <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>parents</strong> with <strong>the</strong> teaching pr<strong>of</strong>ession, with <strong>the</strong>administration <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> High school <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>of</strong>ficial bodies. It is apolitical <strong>and</strong> is open to all <strong>the</strong> <strong>parents</strong> whatever <strong>the</strong>irnationality <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir opinions.At <strong>the</strong> beginning <strong>of</strong> a school year, all <strong>the</strong> <strong>parents</strong> are invited to become members <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> APL by subscribing to <strong>the</strong>association. The members elect 20 people, all volunteers, who comprise <strong>the</strong> APL committee.This committee:- listens to all <strong>the</strong> families <strong>and</strong> informs <strong>the</strong>m- organises <strong>and</strong> runs a delegates' network- represents <strong>and</strong> defends <strong>the</strong> interests <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>parents</strong> at <strong>the</strong> Conseils d'Etablissement, at <strong>the</strong> Conseils d'Ecole as well as on<strong>the</strong> diverse committees- contributes to <strong>the</strong> life <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> High school in general by organising for example <strong>the</strong> Forum <strong>of</strong> careers at SouthKensington- <strong>of</strong>fers <strong>the</strong> possibility <strong>of</strong> signing a third-party <strong>and</strong> accident insurance- collects funds for <strong>the</strong> benefit <strong>of</strong> both "Charities" associated with <strong>the</strong> high school:- "Friends <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> high school" allows to finance school equipment or to make work which benefits daily all <strong>the</strong>pupils.- THE APL Welfare Fund helps financially families in trouble..You will find all <strong>the</strong> information concerning <strong>the</strong> APL on <strong>the</strong> site: www.apl-cdg.org.ukWe actively encourage contributions from Holy Cross <strong>parents</strong>.
